Botulinum toxin Type A is a highly purified protein which when injected in very small doses relaxes the muscle it is injected into. Puts it into a state of hibernation. If we reduce the movement of the muscles of facial expression, the skin stops being creased and is allowed to recover, causing lines to soften or even fade away. Where the muscles are temporarily inactivated the client can sometimes break the subconscious habit of over using these muscles in facial expression. These treatments have been used for many years therapeutically treating muscle spasms, Parkinson’s disease and Cerebral Palsy.
